Our team has led innovation in the industry, developing guidance for Natural England and shaping regulations and policy. With an active portfolio of multiple projects and growing pipeline of potential projects, we require a Nature-Based Solutions Project Manager to help us deliver exciting nature restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of technical reports to support nature-based solutions projects: using and developing established methodologies for the specification of nature-based solutions, with a focus on nutrient management.
- Ensure project specifications are aligned to existing and emerging standards and frameworks: show the integrity of our projects based on developments in industry standards.
- Adapt project specifications to varying requirements: in response to linkages between regulatory approvals, technical delivery challenges and legal agreements to secure projects.
- Project manage nature-based solutions projects:
- Procuring sub-contractors for specialist ecology and environmental services, including developing specifications for sub-contractors to deliver the required services to move projects towards deployment.
- Review outputs from sub-contractors required as part of project delivery.
- Manage external legal support, providing information as required to support the legal process required to deliver projects.
- Manage external regulatory and local government stakeholders to achieve the permissions required to deliver projects.
- Working with other external stakeholders, including environmental NGOs, educational institutions and community groups to deliver additional benefits from our projects.
- Maintaining relationships with key sub-contractors: ensuring Greenshank maintains good working relationships with key sub-contractors that service projects in different regions.
- Site screening: providing early-stage screening of land for the potential to be used for Biodiversity Net Gain and/or nutrient mitigation.
- Understand the sector: Keep abreast of policy and wider developments in Nature Markets and Natural Capital.
Key skills and experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical environmental role.
- Strong GIS skills – experience of QGIS preferred.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word.
- A confident communicator in both written and verbal communications.
- Strong organisational skills.
- A working knowledge of Nutrient Neutrality.
- A full driving licence.
Desirable
- Undergraduate degree or higher in an ecological or environmental discipline.
- Skills in coding for data analysis, preferably using R.
- A working knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain.
- An interest in the development of new natural capital products.
- An understanding of UK planning policy and wildlife legislation.
