Our team has led innovation in the industry, developing guidance for Natural England and shaping regulations and policy. With an active portfolio of multiple projects and growing pipeline of potential projects, we require a Nature-Based Solutions Project Manager to help us deliver exciting nature restoration projects.  

About the role

Greenshank are seeking a tenacious project coordinator to support our project management function in driving nature-based solutions projects to completion. The right individual will combine strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of external stakeholders, ensuring productive relationships that help maintain project momentum.  

You will help steer projects through key stages of development by coordinating specialist subcontractors, legal partners, regulatory bodies, and local government stakeholders to secure the permissions and inputs required for project delivery.  

Alongside relationship management, you will monitor and track project spending, ensuring accurate reporting to company directors and supporting financial oversight of subcontracted work. As you grow within the role, you will develop a deeper understanding of the operational processes that underpin projects and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support to drive nature‑based solutions projects to delivery, working closely with project managers to bring natural capital schemes to market.
  • Coordinate a diverse network of external partners, including specialist ecology and environmental subcontractors, legal teams, regulatory bodies, and local government stakeholder, to secure the inputs, permissions and legal agreements needed to keep projects advancing.
  • Maintain strong, productive relationships with key subcontractors, ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Track project spending, monitoring subcontractor costs and providing clear, accurate financial reporting to company directors.
  • Support legal and regulatory progress, supplying required information and helping navigate the steps needed to secure approvals that enable project delivery.
  • Collaborate with wider external groups, such as environmental NGOs, educational organisations and community partners, to enhance project value and generate additional environmental and social benefits.
  • Stay informed about policy, regulation and sector developments across nature markets and natural capital, continuously building your operational understanding of how Greenshank projects are delivered.

Key skills and experience

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word.  
  • A confident communicator in both written and verbal communications.  
  • Strong organisational skills.  
  • Skills in data analysis.  
  • Drive and determination to complete projects.  
  • An interest in natural capital markets.
  • A full driving licence.  

Desirable

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in an ecological or environmental discipline.
  • QGIS experience.  
  • An awareness of Biodiversity Net Gain
  • An awareness of Nutrient Neutrality.  
  • An awareness of UK planning policy and wildlife legislation.
